A few months ago, I had lung cancer of the right upper lobe. I had a lobe ectomy and survive with 80% lung capacity. I’m doing well, I have a scar on my back below my right shoulder. Don’t ever smoke. I never smoked, and don’t know why I got cancer. Thank God it didn’t spread to my vocal cords, brain, or other lung. I survived cancer!

The incidence of lung cancer according to age is 50-70 yrs in men but that incidence has changed now due to younger age of smokers, men are also said to be more likely to get bronchogenic carcinoma then women.
The predisposing factors are Cigarette smoking, Industrial exposures, and atmospheric pollution.
Cigarette smoking is the most important factor as it contributes to 90% of bronchogenic carcinoma. The most carcinogenic constituent is benzopyrene.
